U.S. Bank Credit Approval Officer in Annapolis, Maryland

Manages Credit Approval activities for a segment of the company’s credit approval, administration and review activities group. Approves loans in excess of business line authority levels. Ensures credits adhere to existing policies and regulatory credit specifications; documentation is adequate to ensure security of collateral; and ongoing administration and review is adequate to maintain the loan portfolio’s quality and profitability.

This Credit Risk Management Credit Approval Officer will be part of a team supporting Business Banking Lending for both Metro and Community Banking, Small Business Strategic Alliances, the SBA Division and Small Business Direct Lending throughout the U.S. Bank footprint.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

  • 10 or more years of experience in Corporate Credit analysis, structuring, approval and portfolio management;

  • Four or more years of managerial experience;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Considerable knowledge of credit and lending policies, credit analysis, procedures and philosophy

  • Strong analytical skills in relation to evaluating asset utilization and goals;

  • Demonstrated analytical and risk analysis skills

  • Advanced knowledge of organization, business practices, business philosophy and ethics;

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills;

  • Well-developed customer service/relations skills;
