The Arc Baltimore Direct Support Professional in Baltimore, Maryland
We have four positions available in the Parkville area. The position hours are Saturday and Sunday 7 am - 11 pm. POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have maximum opportunities to actively participate in all aspects of community life and to offer programs and services that support them in doing so.
The position has varying day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, and the overnight shifts require the direct support professional to remain awake for the entirety of the shift.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor individuals to ensure safety in regard to medical, health, behavioral, and environmental issues.
Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking etc.).
Implement Individual Plans and the Outcomes, Goals, and Strategies.
Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g., incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, drills etc.).
Conduct drills as needed.
Assist with banking and budgeting and assist with shopping, when applicable.
Plan, assist, and participate in community outings with individuals (e.g. visiting family, friends, church/temple, shopping etc.).
Maintain living environment in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and health department standards.
Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, when applicable.
Accompany individuals on medical emergencies as needed.
Work with individuals as assigned by supervisor.
Complete all agency required trainings for position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
Related experience preferred.
Must assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry and cooking).
May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals.
Maryland driver’s license required and approved clean driving record necessary.
