SOC Sr Industrial Security Specialist in Chantilly, Virginia

This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the administration of the industrial security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual, applicable laws, regulations, and contract requirements for SOC. This includes managing the workload of the clearance staff, attending meetings, customer interfacing, and conducting pre-employment background screening and processing security clearance packages in accordance to contractual obligations for SOC and its subcontracting companies for DoS and DoD.

  • Responsible for administering, executing and ensuring compliance with Department of State (DoS)/Department of Defense (DoD) and company regulations, policies and procedures governing the protection of DoS/DoD classified and non-classified information.

  • Effectively and efficiently provide guidance and instruction to clearance team and candidates for thorough and complete capture of all relevant information. This includes QA/QC of packages prior to submission for accuracy of details and clarity of prints. Oversee the management and distribution of workload for the clearance team.

  • Updating internal databases with clearance status and relevant documents. (SQL, InfoMart, OPM eQIP portal, SharePoint and HITS); Performing Self Audits on internal database, eQIP Portal, and filling system.

  • Interface with upper level management and government customer representatives to coordinate contract specific personnel requirements.

  • Understanding and following security processes and regulations so as to ensure compliance with NATO, DOD, DOE, DOS, and OGA security requirements for personnel, information, CI, and COMSEC.

  • Assist in the preparation and conduct security awareness training and education program for cleared employees; facilitate initial and refresher briefings and de-briefings as required.

  • Must be organized, motivated, reliable, and responsible with superior interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work independently and manage projects, heavy workload both onsite and offsite in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with significant attention to detail and ability to identify errors.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both candidates and employees, meeting their needs and the needs of the organization.

  • Must have previous personnel security experience.

  • Possession of security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and process Third Country Nationals in eQIP as a 3PDE Specialist.

  • 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a security role.

  • Must be working toward FSO certification

  • Must be able to attain and maintain necessary security clearance and be 3PDE
