Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. This position is within Corporate Trust Services (CTS), a division of Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to serve as the new Central Servicing Agent (CSA) for its 503/504 loan program for the next five years. This program, approximately $23.6 billion in size, includes over 57,000 active small business loans and grows by approximately 7,000 new loans each year. Wells Fargo, in a joint business relationship with PwC US, will administer the loans and is creating a dedicated team located in Columbia, Maryland that will report through the Asset Backed Securities Division under the Structured Products Services business line.

This position is responsible for day-to-day operations including: document processing, payments, reporting, tax reporting, transmitting/approving money movement, reviewing account activity, remittance reconciliation, monitoring Community Development Corporation (CDC) performance/adherence with stated agreements, etc. Analysts will complete all analytical and operational functions timely and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Responsible for providing technical and operational expertise both internally and externally, and escalate issues of noncompliance, excessive risk or items outside SOP to management. Analysts will resolve customer/client issues and inquiries. Analysts will be asked to participate in system development, testing and business process reengineering.

A Federal background check will be performed.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial service, accounting, or analytical analysis; or a BS/BA degree or higher; or 2+ years of military experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Corporate trust experience

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, with advanced skills in Excel

  • Customer service focus with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend customer issues/needs, and recommend solutions

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong math skills
