MITRE's Emerging Technologies Department is seekingstudent investigators who will assist and collaborate with senior staff in summer research projects on any one of variety of topics, including: nanotechnology, health sciences, artificial intelligence/deep learning, computer vision, and robotics.
For this position the candidate will be working towards their high school diploma and will require excellent communication skills, strong basic knowledge in the sciences and math, an excellent academic record and demonstrated technical or scientific interests, ideally in nanotechnology, health sciences, artificial intelligence/deep learning, computer vision, and robotics topic areas.
Ideally, applicants will be in theirhigh school freshman or sophomore year (i.e., students currently in the 9th or 10th grade). Prior experience or expertise in nanotechnology, health sciences, artificial intelligence/deep learning, computer vision, and robotics would be desirable, but not necessarily essential.Strong computer programming skills and/or ability with the Python computer language or Mat Lab software also are desired, but not necessarily essential.
- Students need to be currently enrolled and will be enrolled the following semester full-time in an academic high school program.
