Our continued growth has created an opening within our Supply Chain department for a Supply Planner in our Towson, MD, GTS corporate Headquaters.
The Supply Planner will be a key member of the PPG Manufacturing Team responsible for providing the highest level of customer service level while maintaining appropriate control of inventory and cost. They will be responsible for production planning for SBDK facility and/or managing vendor purchased products in order to fulfill the planning objectives of the U.S. markets as well as our Global needs. The Supply Planner will be a good steward of the Plant assets of tooling, people, and WIP by buffering them from market variation and appropriate use of “extreme change”.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working Capital Management / Inventory Turns
Manage inventory for specific plants/portfolios to support the working capital turns.
Maintain 4% Excess & Obsolete through management of transitions, dmods, and undersells
Perform regular maintenance and updating of Statistical Safety Stocks using Optiant ABC Methodologies
Best in Class Service Level
Maintain service level of items planned in order to support overall goal of 98% service level
Update weekly service level root cause analysis and drive resolution and corrective action of future occurrences
Minimize short supply challenges, as well as discover, resolve, and communicate recovery
New Product Introduction
Successfully deliver New Product through the stages of Capacity Evaluation, Set Up, Production, & Market Delivery
Coordinate globally with Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams
Proactively conduct regular rhythms of rough cut capacity evaluation of both tooling and manning
Facilitate Global Capacity Planning to deliver aggressive WC Turns, 98% SL, and appropriate utilization and CapEx
Become an expert in the JDA supply planning systems to support plant planners and drive planning efficiency
Regularly review and update system settings for errors to maintain a clean and robust working environment
Regularly review % to Target, Workbench Capacity, Safety Stock, and plant schedules to achieve WCT turns goals balanced with customer fill rates
Work collaboratively with all functional areas of the business; Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sales Operations, Demand Planning, to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities
Serve as link between suppliers/manufacturing locations and the market
Lead or present as the voice of the SBU at S&OP;, Capacity Planning, NPP, and Team Meetings.
Develop improvement plans and be able to communicate effectively to various areas in the organization
Deliver SFS projects that achieve a 2% reduction in average year over year inventory
BS Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain Management required.
3-6 years Supply Chain Experience
Strong cross-functional supply chain process knowledge
Effective project management skills and team leadership skills.
Advanced computer proficiency( JDA, SAP, Excel, Business Warehouse)
Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving ability. Strong attention to detail required
Ability to mitigate short term issues through prioritization and anticipation in a long term planning environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to effectively communicate throughout the organization.
Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and have a passion for excellence
Demonstrated initiative and willingness to overcome challenges
APICS Certification preferred
